Julie Hamner Johnston joined Stewart, Estes & Donnell, PLC as an associate in March of 2003. Ms. Johnston graduated cum laude from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, in 1994, where she earned a B.A. in English. She received her J.D. in 1997 from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she received honors for performance in Copyrights and Intellectual Property. Prior to joining Stewart, Estes & Donnell, PLC, Ms. Johnston was an associate at the New Orleans, Louisiana, law firm of Weiss & Eason, where she practiced in the areas of general civil litigation defense, professional liability and medical malpractice defense, and premises liability defense. In 1998, she served as judicial clerk to Hon. Walter I. Lanier, Jr., Judge in and for the 17th Judicial District Court, Parish of Lafourche, Thibodaux, Louisiana. Ms. Johnston is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state, district, and appellate courts, and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. She is also licensed to practice before all Tennessee state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
