JOHN PAUL NEFFLEN has practiced with Stewart, Estes & Donnell, PLC since August 2001. Before joining the firm, John practiced for two years with another well known Nashville firm. John's practice focuses primarily on defending clients with a variety of legal issues including cases involving catastrophic personal injuries, pharmaceutical devices, medical devices, premises liability, and mechanical equipment. His practice also includes general insurance defense, the defense of electrical cooperatives throughout the state of Tennessee , and the defense of numerous Tennessee counties. In addition to his defense work, John has represented plaintiffs in personal injury and products liability actions, claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act, claims for wrongful termination, and in breach of contract cases. John was actively involved in the successful representation of fourteen Tennessee counties in the case of Lane, et al. v. State of Tennessee , et al., a claim brought under the Americans With Disabilities Act. John was instrumental in defeating the plaintiffs' attempt to certify a class of approximately 250,000 individuals against the State of Tennessee and twenty-five Tennessee counties in a case alleging that Tennessee 's courthouses did not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. John is a member of the Nashville , Tennessee and American Bar Associations, the Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. |
